One of the largest producers of chicken for doner, Aladdin Harfan, claims that Food Agency inspectors have been blackmailing him for money since last year.

The owner of the largest chicken shops has already filed a corruption complaint and the case is expected to be investigated.

Harfan says that attempts at racketeering began in the middle of last year, when the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency closed one of the manufacturer's workshops.

The motive of the inspectors was non-observance of the hygienic conditions, but the injured company believes that the inspectors have drastically exceeded their rights during the inspection.

A year later, a second workshop was closed, and the owner is sure that behind this action is his unwillingness to bribe the inspectors.

The executive director of the company - Alexander Blazhev, claims to btv that the remarks of the inspectors from the Agency referred to the dirty walls in the factory. According to him, however, these were common contaminants typical of the work process, which can be quickly removed.

The inspectors' second finding was that there was no hot water in the meat factory. According to Blazhev, this is also not true and 1 ton of hot water is provided in the workshops, although it does not flow as soon as it is released.

For us, there is no correspondence between the established violations and the measure established by the inspectors - adds Biliana Tomova, Director of Business Development at the company.

Aladdin Harfan says that last year the BFSA inspectors asked him for a 10,000 euro tranquility fee so that they would not close its production for up to a month.

The attack on Aladdin's company is also confirmed by the owner of a chain of donuts - Samir. The man refuses to reveal his identity because he worries that his business will be closed.

However, Samir confirmed that BFSA inspectors had warned him not to buy meat from Aladdin. He was also asked for money, and the owner of the doner chain claims that this is a regular practice of the inspectors.

The Food Safety Agency claims that this is slander. The director of the BFSA, Plamen Mollov, said that last year he received a signal of corruption among his employees, but his inspection did not confirm these suspicions.

The results of the meat sample in Aladdin's workshops show that it is normal. The company also has an international certificate for the quality of its products, valid until 2018.
