Nikolay Kanavrov from Balchik can boast of an interesting hobby, turned into a business. The man grows more than two hundred varieties of tomatoes on his family farm. He has been known in the seaside town as a producer for years.

He manages to establish himself in the industry with the interesting tomatoes he produces, characterized by rich taste and juiciness. People have the opportunity to buy red juicy vegetables from anywhere, but they choose his farm because of the indisputable quality.

Over the years, Nikolai has collected varieties from around the world. There are seeds from Nepal, Chile, Peru, Guatemala. The producer explains that he obtains the varieties mainly online, but some of them were given to him by his customers.

Some collect badges, stamps, napkins - keep them in binders and show them to friends and so on. I have the opportunity to put my collection in such a place that I can enjoy it all day long, says Kanavrov with satisfaction.

Nikolai's tomatoes are delicious and very exotic for Bulgaria. The producer grows his crops both in the garden itself and in a separate place, which he calls an exhibition.

We sow a few seeds of the variety to make sure that we get two plants to put in the so-called exhibition. Everything else that is in excess, we sow it in the garden, reveals the passionate tomato lover, quoted by DariknewsBg.

The man emphasizes that his endeavor is not for profit, but trade is still necessary in order to cover the costs of his hobby. He says that every year he and his family get new varieties, and their transport costs money.

However, Kanavrov wants to emphasize that even if his customers offered large sums for tomatoes present in the exhibition, he would not sell them because it would violate the integrity of his collection. He explains that customers pick tomatoes only from the garden.

Although there are over two hundred varieties in the producer's garden, there are no Bulgarian crops there, because they are well known to his customers and will not grab their interest. Kanavrov shares that there is only one Bulgarian variety, because only a few people in the country have seeds from it.
