The head of the regional directorate in Kyustendil Parvan Dangov ordered 3.5 tons of fake vinegar to be withdrawn from the trade network.

The vinegar, which is produced by Vinprom-Dupnitsa AD, must be withdrawn by the next week at the latest.

Yesterday, the Regional Directorate of the Food Agency in Kyustendil conducted an inspection in connection with the increased consumption of vinegar this month.

During the inspection, the inspectors found that the vinegar with the brands "Wine Vinegar" and "Apple Cider Vinegar" was chemically produced and contained only chemicals and acids.

Labels on these brands of vinegar mislead consumers because they report that the products contain grapes for wine vinegar and apples for apple cider vinegar.

Inspectors are adamant that these ingredients are missing from products of this brand.

The offered vinegar contains acetic acid, flavors, colors, enhancers and flavors of unknown origin.

The counterfeit vinegar has been commercially available since last month.

In "Vinprom-Dupnitsa" a total of seven gross violations were found in relation to the building stock, the production and technological process for the production of wine and apple cider vinegar for mass consumption.

The activity of the enterprise has been suspended for the time being.

The company will be fined BGN 2,000 for each violation.

Parvan Dangov announced that the Food Agency in Kyustendil is launching inspections together with the Consumer Protection Commission for misleading labels.
