Some pubs and discos on the Black Sea coast sell their customers Chinese essence, not whiskey. Counterfeit is a mixture of dust and alcohol that are not dangerous to health.

With its color and aroma, counterfeit alcohol can be mistaken for real whiskey. This is used by traders who buy it at low prices and sell it as a quality malt drink, Monitor newspaper writes.

It is alleged that the new counterfeit is being marketed by Sofia residents who confuse counterfeit alcohol in Sofia's Roma neighborhoods.

A similar laboratory was smashed by police a few months ago, seizing thousands of bottles of counterfeit alcohol ready for sale in Black Sea resorts.

However, it is assumed that some producers continue to engage in the same activity, but have simply moved their illegal production to another location.

It is said that the Chinese essence from which whiskey is made is used in the pharmaceutical industry in medicines for impotence. The powder could be easily found at the Women's Market in Sofia and is generally completely safe for consumption.

However, citizens of Sofia found that if mixed with alcohol, the result was quite reminiscent of real whiskey.

The Commission for Consumer Protection has already launched mass inspections of pubs at sea, during which samples of beverages suspected of being counterfeit were seized. However, the results, which are expected in a month, will show what exactly was in the seized goods.

To this end, we have increased our presence in all regions of the Black Sea coast. We also have seconded colleagues from the interior of the country.

We also have additional employees only for the campaign, who are from the respective places where the inspections are carried out and the teams are formed - said the chairman of the CPC Dimitar Margaritov.

The institution reminds that most foreigners in our country are looking for the cheap alcohol with which our country is known, and some of the counterfeit bottles can lead to serious health problems and even death.
