Suspicious alcohol offered in some restaurants at sea will be tested. The Consumer Protection Commission will monitor the quality of the spirits that the restaurants on the native Black Sea coast serve, inspecting the bars hosting the cup lovers.

However, the first attempt for the inspectors to carry out an inspection in a bar in Sunny Beach turned out to be unsuccessful, BTVNoviniteBg reports. According to law enforcement, as soon as it became clear that an inspection would be carried out, the restaurant closed its doors. The same site has reports that it trades in counterfeit alcoholic beverages, but the team has failed to expose the fraud.

The main idea of the Consumer Protection Commission is to stop the sale of counterfeit alcohol or diluted spirits in restaurants through inspections, when the tourist season is strongest.

During the inspections, the specialists from the Consumer Protection Commission take samples from open bottles of concentrate. An unopened bottle from the same batch is added to them. The alcohol is sealed and transported for testing to a laboratory. The data from the inspection will be released within a month.

The sample from the already opened bottle, ie. of the small bottles, it must be in accordance with those of the sealed bottle, for which a document of origin and a test report are required, said the inspector at the CPC-Varna Ekaterina Draganova.

At the same time, it will become clear whether the offered alcoholic beverages meet the requirements regarding the quality of alcohol, said the chief inspector at the CPC-Varna Vladimir Gerchev.

Alcohol checks will be of great benefit to consumers. According to experts, alcohol fraud should not be underestimated at all, as counterfeit alcohol can cause serious health problems for consumers.

We remind you that less than a week ago, nearly forty people from a poor suburb of Mumbai, India, died after consuming a home-made strong alcoholic beverage.

Three people were arrested in the case, accused of producing and distributing the dangerous drink to workers.
