During the summer inspections of the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency, a little over 100 kilograms of unfit food were seized. The inspections on our Black Sea coast are coming to an end.
Since the beginning of the summer, 2375 inspections have been carried out at sites of the trade network and public catering establishments along our Black Sea strip, the press center of the Agency reports.
After the inspections, 114 prescriptions and 22 acts for established administrative violation were issued. Two of the inspected sites were closed due to lack of registration, according to the Food Act in our country.
229.1 kilograms of food of animal origin have been suspended from sale. 31 expired eggs and 5.36 kilograms of nuts were redirected for destruction.
The most common violation found by BFSA inspectors is the lack of proper storage of food, which makes them potentially dangerous for consumption, and poor hygiene in the facilities.
The sale of expired food, the lack of a label, the lack of health books of the service staff and the lack of documentation on the origin of the offered food were detected.
Since the beginning of the summer, the BFSA has also carried out inspections in the kitchen units, kindergartens and nurseries. No violations were registered in the first 24 inspections.
