Easter is coming, and with it comes the big overeating with eggs. We usually eat a lot more eggs during the Easter holidays than usual.

Is it dangerous or not? According to Deutsche Welle, there is no reason to worry, because eggs will not burden the level of cholesterol, and vice versa - will lower its values.

"Eggs are generally considered to be cholesterol bombs. Which is completely unfair," said nutritionist Sven-David Mueller. He adds that the poultry product is an important supplier of nutrients and can be consumed every day at breakfast without people worrying that it will affect their cholesterol levels.

"Every day, an egg for breakfast is healthy and not dangerous," says Mueller.

In general, cholesterol levels can increase if foods with a higher fat content are consumed. They are of three types: saturated, simple unsaturated and polyunsaturated.

Cholesterol in the blood is mostly increased by saturated fatty acids. Therefore, the German Nutrition Society recommends reducing the intake of this type of fatty acids, while increasing the amount of unsaturated.

Egg contains 28% saturated, 42% simple unsaturated and 14% polyunsaturated fatty acids. In other words, the egg meets the nutrition company's recommendations in the context of the distribution of fatty acids.

Various studies have even confirmed that the lecithin contained in the yolk even lowers cholesterol levels.

In addition, the egg contains a biologically valuable protein that is rich in amino acids. Once in the body, it converts them into its own proteins, which are a very important part of body weight.

Eggs are also sources of vitamins such as B12, folic acid, valuable minerals such as iron and zinc.
