You can safely eat one or two eggs containing fipronil, without worrying about your health and to prove this, two food experts ate live eggs from the infected batch found in our country.
In the show This Saturday on btv Bogomil Nikolov from Active Consumers and the former head of the BFSA Yordan Voynov ate eggs from the batch with fipronil to prove their opinion that they are not dangerous.
The measured doses do not pose any risk to human health, Bogomil Nikolov was adamant, and according to him the human body can feel the negative effects of fipronil only after consuming one kilogram of eggs.
With an average of two eggs a day, which most people consume, there is no danger, said Yordan Voinov.
According to the research of the Food Agency, the detected amount of fipronil in the infected batch is 0.27, which is only one third above the permissible level.
The Minister of Agriculture Rumen Porojanov announced that the control over the seizure of eggs from the trade network is intensified, and consumers should not worry because they are unlikely to experience the harmful effects of fipronil.
For almost a month we have been very active in starting all inspections of the producers of eggs with laying hens, which are about 135 in the country. We have carried out about 430 inspections of all warehouses and enterprises using eggs or egg products, Porojanov told Nova TV.
