Poultry in Bulgaria is completely clean. None of the tests detected the presence of fipronil.
The Bulgarian Food Safety Agency performed a laboratory test of poultry meat throughout the food. The reason was to ensure the safety of food placed on the market and in connection with the intensified official controls on the distribution of products contaminated with fipronil.
Laboratory tests are definite - the meat is absolutely clean.
Samples for the analyzes were taken from the four largest poultry producers in the country. Meat from broiler chickens as well as from laying hens was studied. The samples were sent for testing to an accredited laboratory.
Despite the good news, the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency continues the intensified monitoring of eggs and egg products - both produced in our country and imported. Until the end of the year, all farms and packing centers in the country will provide samples for testing every month.
This will be good both for self-control and for the purposes of official control in the country. The preparations used for disinsection of birds and their proper use are also closely monitored.
