Distilled water is very easy to make and there is a very old method for this. With this method you do not need any special materials to distill water at home. When you remove minerals and harmful chemicals from water, you are actually getting distilled water. People make distilled water for a variety of purposes, including drinking, watering plants, filling humidifiers, steam irons, and even fish tanks and aquariums.

How to distill water in a few easy steps:

1. In a large stainless steel pot or cauldron, fill a few liters of tap water so that the container is not full (just over half).

2. Take an iron rack or other suitable container to place on the bottom of the pot or cauldron (you can use the grill rack on the microwave). Place a glass bowl on the grid or container placed in this way, which should not be filled with water, so if your water overflows into the bowl, you can pour it out.

3. Turn on the hob and place the pot or pot on it. The water should become hot, but it should not boil. Therefore, if the water boils, reduce the heat.

4. Creating the effect of condensation with a hot / cold barrier. You can do this by turning the lid of the container you are using and filling it with ice. When hot steam hits the cold lid, it will create condensation, which will cause droplets to separate on the surface of the lid and fall into the glass bowl.

5. Allow the distillation process to continue until sufficient distilled water is collected in the glass bowl, ie. as much as is enough for your needs.

6. Once you have collected enough distilled water, remove the pot or pot from the hob and carefully remove the lid, because undistilled water from the melted ice will have accumulated on it.

7. Take the bowl with the obtained distilled water from the pot of hot water. Be careful when doing this so as not to burn yourself. You can wait for the water to cool before removing the bowl, if you prefer. This will not spoil your homemade distilled water.

8. Once the water has cooled, pour it into glass bottles so you can keep it clean and you're done.
