The golden-grained mother-of-pearl is a fungus that grows mainly in deciduous and coniferous forests. Mushroom lovers will find it in the autumn months from September to November.

The hood, when young, is convex with a pronounced curved edge. With age, it becomes flat between 3 and 7 centimeters large, with a wide hump.

Sometimes it is white, sometimes it has yellow spots and golden yellow mucous grains on the edge, which is due to the interesting name of the fungus.

The plates are descending narrow, white while young - with yellow scales on the edge.

The stump is cylindrical, dense, white, hollow, in wet weather it becomes slimy, finely scaly. Towards the top the scales form an annular belt.

The meat of The golden-grained mother-of-pearl is white, odorless and very pleasant to the taste.
