Four fell into the toxicology of St. George University Hospital in Plovdiv after mushroom poisoning. Unfortunately, the mother-in-law picked them up, considering them mushrooms.

The woman wanted to entertain her daughter, son-in-law and family friend with the mushrooms she picked from the forest. The woman thought they were mushrooms, but they turned out to be fly agarics.

The mother-in-law often picked mushrooms in the area of the Plovdiv village of Krasnovo and was skilled in the craft. For the first time, however, she confused mushrooms with white fly agarics, which are highly toxic. Doctors explain that such mistakes often lead to a fatal outcome.

The victims are suspected in the hospital in an extremely serious condition. They were taken on Sunday night after consuming the poisonous doubles.

The first symptoms appeared at night - vomiting, upset and severe [dehydration]. The timely measures taken and the quick arrival of the called ambulance allowed to avoid fatal consequences.

The head of the clinic, Professor Yanko Iliev, explains that whole families, poisoned by a pick of poisonous mushrooms, often come to the hospital. The clinic has 12 beds. At the time the patients were admitted, a total of 15 people with various types of poisoning were being treated there.
