It probably impresses you that lately more and more twisted desserts are in fashion, which require not only a lot of effort on your part, but also often have such ingredients that not every household has. That is why here we decided to offer you ideas for easy cakes, for which, in addition to the standard products needed for making cakes, you will also need prune jam.

Retro cake with plum jam
This cake used to be often made by our grandmothers and it is unknown why we have forgotten about it today.

For its preparation you need only 1 tsp. sugar, 1 tsp. oil, 2 tsp. flour, 3 eggs, 1 tsp. baking powder and a pinch of cinnamon. Of course and prune jam, as specifically for this recipe, the jam should be from whole fruit, not sliced. Simply aesthetically, the retro cake would look better with an accentuated vintage style.
In a suitable bowl, mix the sugar, oil and cinnamon and mix until a homogeneous mixture is achieved. It is important that during the whole preparation of the cake the use of a mixer is not required (however, not all of our grandmothers had such a device), but only a wire stirrer or in the absence of one on a simple fork.
In another bowl, sift the flour together with the baking powder. Add this mixture gradually to the first, stirring constantly. Add the eggs to all this, but one by one. Stir again. You will get a dough with a fairly high density, which you need to spread on a tray with baking paper placed on it.
Arrange the plums on top and let the plum cake bake in a preheated 180 degree oven until golden. To make it really emphasize vintage style, you can sprinkle it on top with sugar.
Classic two-piece cake with prune jam

Beat 3 eggs together with 1 tsp. sugar with a mixer. Add 1 tsp. oil. Stir. Add 3 tsp. flour to which you have added 1 packet of baking powder and 1 pinch of baking soda. Mix everything again, but with a metal stirrer until you get a greasy and firm dough.
Divide it into 2 parts. Spread one half (better a little more than the other) on a tray covered with baking paper. Spread a little prune jam on top and about half a teaspoon. ground walnuts.
Pour the remaining dough on top and bake in a preheated 180 degree oven until golden. Sprinkle with powdered sugar on top. It is!
