The first variety of Bulgarian einkorn is about to be registered. Its application and inclusion in the official variety list of Bulgaria is already underway.
The black-grained einkorn of black class was selected in the region of the Eastern Rhodopes by one of the pioneers in the production of ancient wheat in our country, Petko Angelov. The administrative procedure for its certification is currently underway.

The inclusion of the first einkorn in the official variety list of Bulgaria has been his dream for years. This will allow the variety to be released for sale not only in Bulgaria but also abroad.
Petko Angelov has been working with experts from the Agricultural Institute on the selection of a variety of einkorn with black axil for eight years. Growing wild in Russia, today the variety grows on two of the man's fields in areas of 100 square meters and a half acres, respectively.
