The National Statistical Institute reported an increase in the prices of fruits and vegetables for March. The most expensive were cabbage, carrots, apples and citrus fruits.
The kilogram of cabbage recorded the highest growth in prices for March, rising by 16.9%. Carrot prices rose 9% and citrus fruits rose 5.0%.
In the past month we bought 7.2% more expensive leafy vegetables. The values of apples rose by 5.9%. Prices of ripe garlic also increased by 1.4%.
For potatoes the price increase for March was by 1.6%, and for lentils - by 2.8%.
An increase in prices was also noted for bread and pasta - by 1.1%, for pasta - by 1.3%, for pork - by 0.4%, for lamb - by 0.6%, for vinegar - 1.5%, for salt - 0.7 %, for fresh vegetable spices - 0.9%, for mineral water - 1.1%, for brandy - 0.5%, for wine - 0.1% and for beer - 0.3%.
There was no drastic reduction in foodstuffs in March. By 4.1%, carbonated drinks were the cheapest. The ripe beans also decreased by 3.2%.
Lower prices were also rice - 0.2%, flour - 0.3%, chicken - 1.1%, sausages - 0.2%, minced meat - 1.3%, margarine - by 0.9%, dairy products - 0.1%, sunflower oil - 0.4 %, tomatoes - 0.4%, cucumbers - 2%, onions - 0.8%, sugar - 1.3% and coffee - 1.1%.
The National Statistical Institute reports inflation of 0.4%. Food and non-alcoholic beverages rose in price by 0.3 percent, and alcohol and tobacco - by 0.1 percent.
Inflation since the beginning of the year is 0.2%, and compared to March last year it is 0.1%.
The market price index, which reflects wholesale food prices, also increased by 1.3%. Compared to the same month last year, the highest values were recorded by apples and citrus fruits.
On an annual basis, sugar and sunflower oil are cheaper.
