One of the food products, which is part of the content of the popular brand of liquid chocolate Nutella, is about to be declared a carcinogenic substance, and jars of chocolate - as a possible cause of cancer.

This was announced by the European Food Safety Authority, quoted by Reuters, according to which the palm oil contained in Nutella is a potential carcinogen.

However, the Italian company Ferrero claims that their product is completely safe and until there is definite evidence of the harm from consuming palm oil, they will not change the recipe for one of their favorite chocolates.

Research is still ongoing on the properties and disadvantages of palm oil, but European authorities are trying to categorize this type of dietary fat and oil as carcinogenic.

That is why they demand that palm oil be replaced with sunflower oil in most goods.

But the manufacturer claims that if they make this change in the ingredients of Nutella, the taste will change radically and this will greatly affect their sales.

As early as May 2016, the European Food Safety Authority announced palm oil as a potential carcinogen, the consumption of which may increase the risk of cancer.

The World Health Organization and the Agriculture Organization support the views of their European counterparts by warning consumers around the world to avoid palm oil products.
