Italian cuisine is one of the most widespread throughout the world.
Italians are known for their pasta, their amazing pizzas and sumptuous desserts.
Each of us loves spaghetti, but they are a small part of the types of pasta that exist and the delicacies that can be prepared with them.
It has probably happened to you at least once to go to the store, determined to buy a different pasta, to stand in front of a pasta rack and look at different packages with strange names that you do not know how and with what they are prepared.
It has happened to me and I have always bet on getting spaghetti or lasagna crusts, because at least I know what to do with them.
To fully enjoy this cuisine, it is good to know that the shape of the pasta makes any meal delicious and even fun.
- Tortellini (Tortellini) - they are a type of ring-shaped pasta and are usually stuffed with meat, cheese or vegetables. They must be served in cream sauce or broth;
- Tortiglioni - a type of tubular paste with a grooved surface. Used for salads or with lighter and simpler sauces. Their surface allows for better flavoring and sticking of the sauce on them;
- Rotini (Rotini) - a spiral-shaped paste that perfectly retains sauces and pieces of meat. They are suitable as a garnish for salads, baked and fried dishes and can be combined with any sauce;

- Ravioli (Ravioli) - resemble pillows, shaped into a square, oval or round shape, stuffed with meat, cheese and spices and combine beautifully with red and white sauces;
- Pipe Rigate - this is a small hollow paste, slightly curved and very similar to a snail shell. At one end the opening is wide, and at the other end - flat and slightly closed. They are suitable with meat and cheese and in more creative culinary ideas;
- Pappardelle - a wide flat paste, usually rolled up like a nest. They go with heavy and rich sauces and are suitable in the winter months;
- Orzo (Orzo) - a paste resembling barley (like a small grain). It is added to soups and dishes with a more liquid consistency. Perfect for salads and side dishes;
- Farfalle - with a very interesting shape of a ribbon or bow tie. They are also called butterflies. They go very well with cream sauces, in combination with blue cheese and salads.
