In the heat of summer, when beer is one of the most popular drinks, it makes perfect sense to ask the fundamental question of where we can drink cold beer at low prices.

The answer to this question is Krakow, where, according to a study by GoEuro, the cheapest beer in the world is offered. In the Polish city you can order a glass of quality beer for only a modest $ 1.66.

The sparkling drink will cost more or less the same in Kiev, and the difference is that there it costs an idea more expensive in restaurants. The price of beer is extremely acceptable in Bratislava, where you can order one for 1.69 dollars.

In fourth and fifth place in the ranking are respectively Malaga and Delhi. The top ten cities offering the cheapest beer are complemented by Ho Chi Minh City, Mexico City, Belgrade, Asuncion and Bangkok.

Surprisingly for many, Sofia is not in the top ten cities with cheap beer. Our capital is on the 17th place in the ranking with an average price of a glass of the sparkling drink 2.29 dollars.

The city where beer is most expensive is Geneva, which surpasses last year's champion in this respect - Oslo.

Geneva and Zurich are in the top ten cities offering expensive beer.

In fact, the leading position in the cost of Swiss cities is mainly due to currency fluctuations and the retreat of the euro against the dollar and the Swiss franc.

This is the reason why the leading places of the cities offering expensive beer are occupied mainly by American cities.

The GoEuro survey affected 75 cities around the world, comparing the prices of both world-famous beer brands exported around the world and not-so-popular brands known mainly to the local population.

In addition to beer prices, the authors of the study also compared the consumption of sparkling beverages per capita.

For example, most beer is drunk in Bucharest, where the annual consumption is 133 liters, while the people of Cairo are on the opposite pole with only 4 liters of beer per person per year.

Where are we? Sofia ranks 17th in the ranking for the cheapest beer. Here, the average price for a glass is about 2.29 dollars.
