The reason lies in the fungi, which we do not see, but they spread very quickly and cover the entire food product. Mold, simply put, is a type of fungus that can be green, brownish, black, gray. You can smell it before you have tasted the food that has been affected by it.

Some foods can be removed by cutting, but this is not recommended for bread. Even if you remove the affected slice, do not think that you have got rid of the fungus. They love a warm and humid environment and thrive in it, and can remain invisible to the human eye.

Consumption of moldy bread can cause allergies, stomach problems and even lead to a breakdown of the immune system. This mold can be not only toxic but even carcinogenic.

Experts advise not to consume bread that has been in a sweaty package, as the heated and closed environment is ideal for the development of fungi. Therefore, the artificial leavening agents and preservatives used in its manufacture also contribute.

If you have the opportunity, make homemade bread with yeast, which is much less likely to "settle" fungi and is much healthier and tastier.
