The owner of a poultry farm in Osenovo - Boyko Andonov, said that this Easter in the domestic markets are expected mainly Bulgarian eggs after a few years, in which we were flooded with cheap eggs from Poland.
The large import of Polish eggs, which undercut the prices of Bulgarian products for several consecutive years, was the main reason for the low sales of Bulgarian goods.
According to Andonov, for this year's holiday it is expected that there will be no large imports of eggs, similar to last year, when the domestic markets were full of eggs from abroad.
This will help Bulgarian producers to sell a large part of their goods. In addition, Bulgarian consumers will consume fresh eggs from verified producers, not goods of dubious origin and on the verge of expiration.
Boyko Andonov, who raises more than 30,000 happy hens, expressed concern that illegal imports of eggs from Macedonia and Romania were possible shortly before Easter.
"Something incognito may enter from Macedonia, but the Macedonian poultry farmers have not bothered us. Danger is also expected from Romania, because a lot is being invested in poultry farming and their production has doubled and tripled. In some years we will have big headaches, but at the moment there is no problem "- said the owner of the largest poultry farm in Varna region.
According to the expectations of the experts, no drastic rise in the price of eggs is expected in the days around Easter. If there is any increase in prices, it will be within one or two cents.
The price of eggs purchased in bulk is between 15 and 23 stotinki per piece, and experts advise consumers to buy eggs only from proven producers and food chains.
Be sure to pay attention to the expiration date of the goods. The shelf life of eggs is up to 28 days.
Experts say that fresh eggs can be recognized by their light shine, unlike the old ones, which are more matte.
Prices can also be an indicator of fresh eggs, as those with an expiration date are regularly offered at very low prices to sell.
