On cold winter days, there is nothing better than home parties. If you want to diversify your arsenal of appetizers and you are tired of betting on unhealthy chips, popcorn and fried nuts, here are some suggestions for a delicious and easy to prepare party dipswhich will go great with snacks, bruschettas or rusks.

First let's clarify what is the meaning of the foreign word "dip" and what is the difference between dip, dressing and ranch. What the three concepts have in common is that they are all a kind of sauce. The difference is in the consistency. The dip is thicker, almost as much as a puree mixture, suitable for spreading rather than watering. It is very convenient to scoop with snacks, bruschettas, Arabic or Indian breads. The dressing means sauce, but is most often used as a synonym for salad dressing. Ranch is a milk-cream-based sauce combined with certain spices.

So, after clarifying the etymology of the new terms in Bulgarian cuisine, let's return to party dips.

The first proposal we will present to you is Party dip with cottage cheese.

Choose cottage cheese that is not watery. Depending on its consistency, the amount of yogurt and mayonnaise can vary. The important thing is that the mixture does not become too liquid, and the density is convenient for "scooping".

You will need the following products:

400 grams of fresh unflavored cottage cheese, half a head of onion - grated or blended, 2 cloves pressed garlic, 110 grams of strained yogurt, 160 grams of mayonnaise, 1 teaspoon of sea salt or as you see fit, a pinch of pepper and 3 tablespoons of fresh dill, finely chopped.

Method of preparation

Crush the curd with a fork. Add the remaining products and mix everything well until you get a homogeneous mixture. We recommend that you leave it for at least an hour before serving this dip so that the mixture absorbs the aroma of garlic and dill. Can also be stored in the refrigerator.

Dip with avocado, garlic, tomato and fresh coriander

Guacamole

No, this is not the famous Guacamole! It looks similar, but the taste is completely different.

Before you start making this dip, you need to make sure that you love the aroma of coriander. Otherwise you can replace it with parsley.

You will need:

1 large avocado, 1 large ripe but hard tomato, half a head of onion, 2 cloves garlic, fresh coriander about 20-25 leaves (or parsley), salt and pepper to taste, about 30 ml. olive oil and the juice of half a lemon.

Method of preparation

All products should be chopped, you can use a blender to chop onions and garlic, along with coriander (or parsley), oil and lemon juice. If you do not use a blender, squeeze the garlic and chop the onion and coriander (parsley) very finely.

Peel and peel the avocado, then cut it into small cubes. Cut the tomato in half, peel it and remove the stalk, seeds and all the liquid. For this dip you will only need its meat. All products are mixed in a suitable container. All products are mixed carefully until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.

It is good to leave it in the fridge for an hour - this way the products will mix and taste better. Keep in mind that this dip is not durable and should be consumed immediately after serving.

Have fun and cheers!
