Aromatic savory is a great remedy for headaches as well as for lowering high blood pressure, according to a recent study. More than 30 species of savory are known, but research shows that the most useful are garden and mountain. They are widely used in Bulgarian traditional cuisine - savory is added to stews, baked dishes with and without meat, sauces and more.
Apart from cooking, however, the aromatic spice can be very useful in various health ailments. The spice is often used to treat colds. It is believed that savory helps with nausea, can regulate high blood pressure, helps relieve headaches and last but not least - to calm the heartbeat.
The decoction of savory is made with half a liter of water and 2 tbsp. of the aromatic spice - bring the water to a boil in a suitable container, then add the savory and remove from the heat. In order for the savory decoction to be most effective, it must stand for two hours. Then the mixture is filtered and drunk - it is best to divide into three doses.
Headaches can be overcome with other natural remedies. If you do not want to resort to drugs, you can prepare decoctions of other popular herbs - calendula, chamomile, mint, etc.
A less well-known method of treating headaches is with the help of lavender oil - according to some sources, it is enough to inhale the oil vapors of lavender.
Another option is to put tolerably hot water in a basin and add to it a dozen drops of lavender oil. Put your feet in the basin and if you feel the water cool down, add more warm water. It is important to add lavender oil just before putting your feet in the basin.
After ten minutes, remove your legs from the basin. These baths will help not only to eliminate the headache, but also for colds or a feeling of general fatigue. It is good to do it twice a day. You can replace lavender oil with chamomile oil, oregano and others.
