In the village of Kurtovo Kunare they organize a three-day festival of peppers, tomatoes, traditional foods and crafts. The celebration will begin on September 11, and guests will be treated to delicious homemade lyutenitsa.
Lutenitsa will be prepared on the main square in the village on Saturday. Preparations will start in the morning, and the women who will take on the task promise that the lyutenitsa will be ready by the afternoon.
Preparations for the home-made lyutenitsa will start at 10 am, and 2 hours later, after the pot boils, it will be taken to the central square. An hour later, the tasting by all present will begin.
All guests of the festival will receive a thickly spread slice to try the home-made specialty. The main products that will mix the traditional tomato flavor are the typical kurtova kapia and pink tomato.
And the jury of the festival will receive as a gift a jar of lyutenitsa.
A series of competitions will be held on all three holidays. This year, traditionally, the Queen of Lutenitsa will be elected again.
There are also competitions for the biggest peppers and tomatoes, which the hosts have managed to grow in their gardens this summer.
One of the days of the festival they will make corn noise dolls, and this is expected to be one of the big attractions of the three-day culinary event.
The Photographic Plein Air and the Plein Air for Artists will be opened on September 12. At 1 pm, stands with fruits, vegetables, traditional food, art products from Kurtovo Konare and the region will be arranged.
In the evening on the central square will sound jazz, ethno, rock and blues. There will be many more prizes, songs and dances.
It is no coincidence that the holiday is held in Kurtovo Konare. According to historical sources, red pepper was ground here for the first time in Bulgaria, early tomatoes were grown and peanuts were sown. The village is immortalized as the place where the most delicious gate is grown.
The goals of the whole region are to preserve their old agricultural tradition.
