Although sour ones have already lost their popularity due to the wide variety of ready-made creams and puddings that are sold in shiny packaging in stores, they were once a favorite dessert of children. Every kid has been looking forward to serving their favorite dessert in the kitchen next to their grandmother or mother, whether the sourdough is made from juices, syrups, fresh or dried fruit, cocoa, milk or other products.

Unlike creams that can be prepared for use in cakes, pastries and sweet rolls, sour creams are made only for immediate consumption. Over time, they deform and are not tasty. At one time, however, there was nothing more appetizing than freshly made homemade sour.

As with any other activity, making sour requires a certain amount of experience and awareness. That is why here we will introduce you to the basic rules of making sourdough, in case you decide to remember the taste of this retro cream:

- Sour are prepared with starch. It is usually wheat, corn or potato, to which sugar is added. Most confectioners advise sourdough to be prepared with cornstarch, because it easily absorbs other flavors and spices that you will put on it;

- The density of the acids may be different. Sometimes they are very thick, and other times - semi-liquid. It depends on the amount of starch you will use;

- Starch is usually diluted with chilled milk or fruit syrup, but if you do not have them, you can use only water;

- The main problem in the preparation of sour is that during cooking they often form balls, which spoil the appearance and taste of the cream. To avoid this, it is important that the liquid to which you add the starch is warm but not boiling. Stir constantly until the desired acidic density is reached;

- Pour the pickles into bowls or cups rinsed with cold water. If you do not want to catch the crust, you can sprinkle them with powdered sugar. Other flavors that match sour are cinnamon, vanilla, cloves, etc. If you are going to serve sour to children, it is not recommended to use alcohol, even just to add flavor.
