Bulgarians share 14th place with Belgians in beer consumption per capita in Europe. The survey was prepared by the Brewers of Europe, and the leaders in the beer exam are the Czechs.
In one year, 144 liters of beer were personally drunk in the Czech Republic, followed by Germany with 107 liters on average per person per year. In third place is Austria with an average of 104 liters of beer beer per cap.
The Bulgarians rank 14th together with the Belgians with 72 liters of beer beer exam per person during the year.
A study in Bulgaria shows that most beer is drunk in Montana, Sofia, Pleven and Varna. Beer lovers in Bulgaria are between 30 and 49 years old.
Bulgaria retains the 17th position in beer production in the world. An average of 4.9 million hectoliters of beer are produced in Bulgaria in one year.
The first place in beer production for another year is occupied by Germany, which is also known for its old traditions of beer production. In one year, 95.3 million hectoliters of beer are produced by the country's breweries.
The United Kingdom, Poland, the Czech Republic and Belgium are also in the lead in beer production.
In its report, the industry organization Brewers of Europe notes that the sector of the old continent is growing positively. Brewers have managed to recover from the crisis in 2008-2009, with beer sales growing.
The data also show that beer exports from European breweries have increased by 21% since 2009.
Over 700 new breweries have been opened in Europe in the last few years, increasing employment in Europe by 3.4%
The leader in the number of breweries is Great Britain with 1700, followed by Germany - 1353. In third place is France with 663 breweries, and Bulgaria is in 25th place with 16 breweries.
