Inspectors from the Regional Directorate for Food Safety found nearly 390 kilograms of expired food and even mold during inspections at two restaurants in the capital.

In restaurants and bars, where proms are organized annually, a huge amount of fragrant products was found, from which the dinner of the young people was prepared.

The food had a visibly deteriorating appearance and some of the products were even moldy. More than 91 kilograms of meat and 242 kilograms of other food have been diverted from the kitchens for destruction.

The Regional Directorate has drawn up an act of the chef due to the established violations.

In a restaurant, where a prom was organized for 40 graduates, 50 kilograms of expired meat and 6 kilograms of dairy products were found.

A statement of findings and an act for trade in unfit for consumption products were drawn up for the violators. The food has been banned and an order has been issued for its destruction.

In connection with the proms, the Regional Directorate for Food Safety together with employees of the Economic Police carry out thorough inspections of the establishments where the celebrations of the high school graduates will be held.

During inspections in the country, it was found that restaurants in Borovets and Etropole also push spoiled food to high school graduates.

About 240 kilograms of moldy bread were found in a restaurant in the resort of Borovets. About 91 kilograms of steaks, eggs and milk were also seized.

The restaurant was supposed to host about 50 seniors on May 22, serving them spoiled food.

The Regional Directorate of the Interior clarified that 99% of the food in the kitchen was unfit for consumption - meat, vegetables, dairy products and bread.

The case is similar in Etropole, where 56 kilograms of pork, meat preparations, kebabs, meatballs, short-lived sausages and expired ice cream preparations were detained.

The restaurants have been fined but continue to operate.
