This classic cocktail has an equivalent that is even more refreshing, you can make it at home, with a very interesting Bulgarian spice.

Kalofercheto is a fragrant herb that grows in sunny meadows, where thyme is also found. In the past it was often used in the local cuisine of some Bulgarian regions.

The aroma and taste of the plant resembles green lemon and mint, which is why it is used in the preparation of lamb, fish, bean dishes. It is also suitable for Mojito type summer cocktails.

Here is an example recipe for Balkan Mojitoto cool off in the heat:

Necessary products: 4 lemons, 4 tbsp. honey, 3 stalks kaloferche, carbonated water

Method of preparation: Wash the lemons well and cut them into slices. Put them in a large jug. Add honey and kaloferche leaveswhich you also washed very well. Fill the jug with water and place the container in the refrigerator.

After about 4 hours the drink is ready. Then pour it into tall glasses (only in the middle) and top up with sparkling water.
