If you have a baby, it is good to know that if you eat foods containing peanuts, the risk of developing peanut allergy decreased by 81 to 100, according to clinical trial results quoted by Reuters and AFP.

Infants in Israel start eating peanuts at a very early age, unlike many other countries where it is not recommended to give peanuts to young children. More than 600 children aged between 4 and 11 months have been clinically tested.

Half of the infants were fed a peanut-free diet for 5 years, and the rest consumed at least 6 g of peanut butter protein daily.

After children were 5 years old, there was an 81 percent reduction in the risk of peanut allergy in those who were very young when they started eating them.

This study reveals the benefits of eating peanuts in early childhood as a preventative measure against allergies to them, said the director of the US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Dr. Anthony Fauci.
