There are synthetic and natural sweeteners, the former being considered harmful and the latter sparing the human body. Isomalt, which is little known in Bulgaria, can be mentioned here, but can now be found in larger or specialty stores.

Isomalt is derived from beet sugar and is an all-natural product that has nearly twice as many calories as refined sugar and, unlike it, does not damage teeth. Has little effect on blood sugar levels and is recommended for diabetics.

Isomalt is used very much in confectionery and for the decoration of cakes, pastries, cakes, biscuits and more. desserts. It is sold in boxes or other packaging, but before proceeding with the decoration, it is to be tempered.

This means that you need to put about 100 g of isomalt in a silicone box that is suitable for heat treatment. It is placed in the microwave for 5 minutes at 600 watts and once the isomalt begins to liquefy, it is removed. Now you can directly proceed to the start of various decorations with the help of cookie cutters.

If you want your decoration to be colorful, you can add isomalt and confectionery paint, but it is better to stick to natural dyes.

If you want green decoration, for example, you can add a little spinach juice, for orange paint - carrot juice, for red paint - roasted red beet juice, and for brown - cocoa.

You can add various spices such as vanilla, cinnamon or liqueur of your choice to the mixture prepared in this way to give it a stronger aroma.

Just be careful not to add too much water when mixing the different products, because it will be difficult for you to do whatever you want with isomalt.
