The data of the State Commission on Commodity Exchanges and Markets show that for the last year the most expensive goods on the Bulgarian market are tomatoes. Accordingly, the lowest price is for sugar.

The most serious jump was registered by garden tomatoes, which increased their values by 28%. In the last month, the price of garden tomatoes has continued to rise, with its value rising by 31%.

In greenhouse tomatoes, the jump in one month is 20%. Greenhouse cucumbers rose by 5.6% in September.

Bad weather, plant diseases and Russia's agricultural embargo have caused prices of much of vegetables to remain higher in September than in the same month last year, the commission said.

On an annual basis, after tomatoes, the most expensive vegetables are peppers, which jumped by 25%. For the last month there is an increase in the prices of ripe beans - by 9%, but experts expect the price of beans to stabilize.

In the last year, the price of sugar has dropped by 33%. For one year, a decrease in the price of oil by 13% was registered. DKSBT also reported a decrease in flour prices by 5.7%.

In dairy products there is a slight decrease of between 1 and 3%. The prices of eggs and chicken meat have kept their levels since August.

In September, green peppers rose by 12.6%. Potatoes, which have risen by 5%, also have higher prices.

After the sharp rise in prices of lemons in late July and early August from mid-August and September, their price stabilized, albeit at a high level - over BGN 3.30 per kilogram. On an annual basis, however, the price of lemons has risen by about 60%.

Most fruits registered lower prices in September. Prices of apples and grapes fell by 9% and 14% respectively. Watermelons also registered a decline in values by 3%.

On an annual basis, apples and watermelons registered an increase of between 3 and 4%. Grapes also reported an increase in price, compared to last year, by 17%.
