A new beer mug will be presented this year at the annual Oktoberfest, which will take place in Germany from September 20 to October 5.

In Germany, they are preparing for the traditional beer fest all year round, and the new mug will be this year's sensation. This year, one of the most popular festivals in the world will be held from September 20 to October 5 near Munich.

The history of Oktoberfest begins on October 12, 1810, when Crown Prince Ludwig celebrated his marriage to Princess Theresa von Sachsen-Hildburghausen.

All the inhabitants of Munich were invited to the wedding, and the feast was held on a lawn in front of the city gates, which was later named after the princess.

Nine years later, the celebration was repeated and the townspeople decided to make it a tradition by organizing a festival every year.

At the beginning of the Theresa meadow, beer was not offered, but little by little the sale of alcohol and food became part of the festival. The first beer halls appeared at the end of the 19th century.

In 1880 the festival was lit for the first time with electricity, and in 1892 the first glass beer mug appeared. Since then, beers in one-liter mugs have traditionally been sold at Oktoberfest.

Attendance at the traditional German beer festival exceeds 6 million people, according to statistics from recent years.

Especially for Oktoberfest, brewers in Munich produce beer called Wiesn Märzen, which has a higher alcohol content.

In addition to liters of beer, the festival also includes various entertainment such as roller coasters, Ferris wheel, carousels and more.

Millions of liters of beer are drunk every year at Oktoberfest. This year, only 6 breweries in Munich have been selected to offer the sparkling liquid to visitors.

The beer will be sold in 14 tents, each with its own atmosphere and history.

The guests of the festival will be tempted by various foods such as roast chicken, sausages, pork shank, roast pork, sauerkraut and dumplings - bread and potatoes.
