- Before removing it from the heat, add salt to taste. If you salt it at the beginning, the cooking time is extended. This rule generally applies to all legumes.
If the lentils have become soft, you can serve them immediately. Before that you can mix it with vegetables. When cooking, you can add bay leaf to water or other spices.
Simply boiled green lentils are a good addition to a main course, but don't limit yourself to that. Beans can be added to soups, salads and more complex side dishes.

Green lentils with vegetables
In this dish, lentils are present as a side dish to vegetables. For the preparation we need:
green lentils - 1 cup
carrots - 2 pcs. small
onion - 1 head
tomatoes - 2 pcs. ripe
green spices
coriander - 1 tsp.
vegetable oil - 2 tbsp.
pinch of salt
Preparation: Boil the lens according to the technology above. Grate the carrots, finely chop the onion and green spices. Tomatoes should be cut into cubes along with the skin. Pour the vegetable oil into the pan together with the onions and carrots in it, fry for 5 minutes. Add tomatoes, green spices and coriander. Add salt and add the cooked lentils to the vegetables, mix well and leave for 5 minutes under a lid on low heat.
Lentil soup
The soup is perfect for lunch. It can even be eaten by children. The following products are required:
lentils - 1 cup
potatoes - 4 pcs.
onion - 1 pc.
carrots - 1 pc.
vegetable oil - 1 tbsp.

Preparation: Wash the lentils, put it in a saucepan, add the vegetable oil and pour 2 cups of water, bring to a boil. Meanwhile, peel the vegetables and cut the potatoes into small cubes. Pass the carrot through a grater and chop the onion finely.
Fifteen minutes after boiling, add the vegetables to the pan, cook until done. Before removing the soup from the heat, add salt and sprinkle with herbs.
