Contrary to established practice, leading experts have called for red wine to be stored in a refrigerator before being served and for this practice to be introduced as a prerequisite for all self-respecting wineries. It is known that white wine is chilled while red wine is kept at room temperature.

Put each open bottle in the refrigerator. Even with red wine, says Janice Robinson, editor-in-chief of the world-famous wine magazine Oxford Company of Wine. Low temperatures slow down chemical reactions, including oxidation, which is the enemy of an open bottle, she explains.

This means that open bottles of wine, which are stored in the refrigerator, will retain their aroma and taste more fully and for a longer time. To further shock the wine community around the world, Robinson even says that red wine, not red wine, should be kept at room temperature.

It is good that the champagne is very cold, but to fully appreciate the taste, aroma and color of white wine, it must be at room temperature. Otherwise, the cold dulls exactly those sensors of your tongue that can fully appreciate it, says Robinson.

To the complete surprise of the wine community, the world-famous wine expert praised the new plastic wine bottle caps in the new issue of his edition.

According to her, it is much easier to close an already opened bottle of wine with a synthetic stopper than with the familiar cork. Plastic plugs have lower prices, but have the same qualities.

Regarding the quality storage of wine once already open, Robinson says that it, like fresh fruit, is perishable and the air is its enemy.

Once you remove the cork and the liquid is exposed to oxygen, it begins to deteriorate rapidly. While it can last at room temperature for a day or two before its aromas begin to spoil, it can last longer in the refrigerator.

In the end, however, the editor says that life is too short and it's not worth digging too deep if you don't think about how to store wine properly.

That's why if you don't care about all this storage hustle and bustle, it's best to invite a few of your friends home and drink the open bottles quickly in a pleasant atmosphere.
