The Bulgarian delicacy Rolle Trapezitsa was approved by the European Commission for inclusion in the register of foods of traditional and specific nature.

The news was confirmed by the Commission's press office.

Role Trapezitsa will be added to the official list of over 1200 protected products. Earlier this year, the Panagyurishte sausage and Elena fillet also joined it.

The name Role Trapezitsa comes from the historic hill Trapezitsa in the old capital city of Veliko Tarnovo. The European Commission notes that the geographical area has no effect on the production of the role.

According to Brussels, the name is specific in itself because it is used and is known in Bulgaria and has a long history and reputation. Under this name the product is manufactured and is popular throughout the country.

Roll Trapezitsa is a pressed raw-dried meat product prepared from chilled or frozen pork neck and a mixture of salt and natural spices - black pepper, white pepper and garlic, filled with natural intestine or collagen and mesh, formed with twine bandages.

The delicacy can be consumed without peeling. This is added in the communication of the European institution.

Protected names are a way for products to bear the same mark and to be produced in a strictly regulated manner.

The products included in this list have a higher reputation, as their quality is guaranteed and controlled by independent bodies.

After the registration of the role, its producers will launch large-scale advertising campaigns throughout Europe.

Rolle Trapezitsa is another product that receives the status of food with a protected name. Less than a month ago, Brussels recognized as typical Bulgarian appetizers such as Elena fillet and Panagyurishte sausage.

About a year ago, Gornooryahovski Suduzhuk entered the list of trademarks.

3 more applications have been submitted to the European Commission for protection of typical Bulgarian products - rose oil, sausage and Kaiser neck Trakia.
