Some drinks are said to be made without sugar or low in sugar. Sometimes, however, the sugar in them is replaced by artificial sweeteners, which, although they do not contain calories, are no better than sugar.

Most juices contain a lot of acids that help destroy tooth enamel. Acidic juices remove calcium from the body and therefore should be used very carefully, especially in osteoporosis.

The Cambridge research group, which advises the British government on nutrition and obesity, has demanded that the juice be dropped from official health ministry recommendations, which now say it can be counted among the recommended five servings a day of fruit and vegetables.

Of course, for years the natural juice industry has enjoyed a healthy image. Everything related to fruit has always gone with this healthy label, but for the food industry, fruit is like everything else - just a business. No matter how much they put labels as 100% natural and freshly squeezed, the big brands on the market offer a 100% processed product.

Most natural juices have a shelf life of up to two years. Due to this processing, they lose most of their nutritional value. The pH of the fruit changes and turns from alkaline to acidic. Also, additives and preservatives in the juice can have a carcinogenic effect on the human body.

The only advantage of fruit juice is that it is convenient - packaged and ready for consumption. However, the currently squeezed juice is much more useful.
