The soap sponge you can also hear it under the name Sapunenka. It is found in the high parts of the mountains, deciduous and coniferous forests and also in the lowlands. Most often you can come across Sapunenka in late summer - August, September.

This type of mushroom is inedible and can cause stomach problems when consumed.

Its hood initially has a star shape, which later becomes almost flat. Its diameter is about 12 cm. On top it is shiny and smooth.

Its color is not precisely defined and unique - it is reddish-brown, light gray, greenish, gray-brown or yellowish. Despite the many color varieties, what is the same for all representatives of this type of fungus is that the periphery of the hood is lighter and towards the center the color becomes saturated. In younger mushrooms, the edge is curled and subsequently straightens, and dark, round spots can be seen on it.

The stump is cylindrical in shape and reaches 10 cm in height. It is fibrous and its color is white-gray, and in rare cases it turns pink at the base.

The taste of the soap sponge is quite bitter, but its smell is characteristic and resembles homemade soap. It is the distinctive smell that can serve as a guide that warns you to stay away from this mushroom. When the mushroom is broken or injured, it is noticed that its flesh is pink in color.

The most common representatives of this species are:

- Tricholoma saponaceum var. saponaceum - google in gray-brown-greenish color and lack of scales;

- Tricholoma saponaceum var. squamosum - google in dark gray-brown color and dark gray easily visible scales;

- Tricholoma saponaceum var. lavedanum - cracked google in the reddish-brown range and pale, smooth stump.
