Do not exclude eggs from your salads, American experts advise us. The eggs can improve the absorption of the beneficial ingredients of raw greens in salads, scientists explain in a recent study. This was announced by Science Alert, citing a study conducted by scientists at Pardew University.

The study required 16 people, whom the specialists divided into three groups. All participants had the task to eat a salad of mixed vegetables - the researchers said that in all three groups they consumed the same salads.

The only difference between them was that in some participants the eggs were XL or 75 grams, in the other group they did not consume eggs. The researchers gave the volunteers in the third group two of the large eggs of the participants in the first group.

The participants were then examined - the specialists analyzed their blood samples. Volunteers who ate two eggs absorbed three to eight times more carotenoids than those in the study who were not given any eggs as a salad supplement.

Carotenoids, scientists explain, are fat-soluble and are found in most greens. In addition, they are extremely useful for the body - thanks to them, inflammation in the body is reduced, and the risk of various diseases is reduced.

If there are vegetables of different colors in salads, this will provide the body with several unique types of carotenoids, such as lutein, lycopene, etc., explains Wayne Campbell, who is part of the team of scientists.

The better absorption of carotenoids is due to the lipids contained in the eggs, the specialist added. Especially useful and rich in fat is the yolk, which many experts recommend to remove from the menu altogether.

Other fats from salad dressings are added to salads. They can also improve the absorption of carotenoids, but American experts explain that they are more caloric.

An egg has no more than 70 calories, six grams of which are protein, and in salad dressings the calories are between 140 and 160 for the amount of two spoons.
