Two women were admitted last night to the emergency department of a hospital in Blagoevgrad after being poisoned with a cake. It is assumed that there were drugs in the cake.
The first woman to arrive at the hospital was 50 years old and told doctors that she had eaten a cake in one of the city's hairdressers before she became ill. The woman from Blagoevgrad works as a cleaner in the hairdressing salon, where she ate from the cake.
The victim's daughter claims that there were drugs in the cake in question.
A little later, a second woman with the same symptoms as the 50-year-old woman from Blagoevgrad was admitted to the hospital. The second victim of food poisoning is a 30-year-old receptionist at a hotel near the hairdresser's, where the first woman ate a cake.
The incident happened at 7 pm, with one woman having heart problems and the other hallucinating and laughing for no reason.
Both women from Blagoevgrad claim that the son of the owner of the hotel where they work treated them to the cake.
Currently, the condition of both women is stable after being treated with live charcoal. The women from Blagoevgrad continue to be under medical supervision in OARIL.
The samples taken reacted to drugs - hashish, cannabis and three other similar opiates, but experts do not rule out the possibility that food poisoning occurred as a result of spoiled eggs, from which the cake was made.
The relatives of the two women informed the police, who worked on the spot at the hotel.
It is still being clarified who prepared the cake in question.
Meanwhile, it became clear that the children, who were poisoned in a school chair, ate soup infected with staphylococci, delivered to local schools by the same catering company - "K&V".
It was also found that 11 of the company's 26 employees had a staph infection.
At the moment, the catering company is closed and will be fined BGN 4,000. Various procedures are forthcoming, including disinfection of the site.
