Ten children were admitted to the Razlog Hospital with symptoms of food poisoning on International Children's Day. The kids were accommodated in Hotel Peony in the town of Bansko.

All the children are 9 years old, and doctors are still doing tests to make sure that it is food poisoning.

The Razlog hospital does not deny the possibility that the children were poisoned by drinking water. It is also possible that the food they consumed was not served at the Peony Hotel, but from an external source.

All the children were admitted to MHAT-Razlog this morning at 8.30 am, and their condition is now stable.

The worries of the director of the Razlog hospital, Bozhidar Velev, are based on finding enough beds to accommodate the children, which can be quite a difficult task, as the hospital has been undergoing intensive repairs for some time.

Authorities are currently inspecting both the hotel's food and food imported from abroad, including juices and water. The results of the inspections are expected to be announced today.

The third-graders are from a school in Sofia and have visited a green school in the town of Bansko.

The head of the Infectious Diseases Department at the General Hospital, Dr. Margarita Georgieva, said that two more of the children showed mild symptoms of poisoning, but their complaints were not serious and they were released.

"Two of them have very minor complaints and will most likely be released. The others remain in hospital. The children are not in a serious condition, but they need hospital treatment, a system for overcoming the losses they have "- explained Dr. Georgieva.

Most of the poisoned children vomited, had diarrhea, and some even had a high fever.

The Bulgarian Food Safety Agency is also expected to be involved in the case. The BFSA recently announced that it is launching a series of inspections in domestic hotels, shops and restaurants due to proms and the upcoming summer season.
