American scientists from the military laboratory in Massachusetts have developed a recipe for pizza that can be eaten in 3 years if stored in the refrigerator.

Michelle Richardson of the US Department of Defense Research Center in Natik revealed that the newly created pizza was designed specifically for the US military, who insisted that pizza be included in their menu.

According to Richardson, the product will be able to stay in its packaging for 3 years, during which time it will be edible.

The expert also notes that scientists have satisfied the desire of the military by creating a pizza that does not require mobile or microwave ovens.

The development of the new pizza recipe took the specialists two years.

The main problem the scientists faced came from the fact that the moisture from the tomato sauce and yellow cheese is absorbed by the dough over time, which leads to its spoilage.

To prevent this process, experts have added sugar, salt and syrups to the pizza, which are moisture-retaining products.

In addition, the acidity of the sauce, cheese and dough has been altered to slow down the growth of bacteria.

The US military has not yet tried the pizza, but according to experts who have tasted it, it is very similar to the traditional product cooked in the microwave.

The only difference with the innovative product is that the newly created pizza should be served at room temperature, not hot.

People's passion for their favorite food is clearly visible on social networks.

According to the latest polls, one third of people post photos of themselves eating in a restaurant on the Internet.

More than 84 million photos of food have been posted on Instagram. On Facebook, on the other hand, 46% of the photos are of food, which makes the social network a leader in this category.

One in five Britons said in a survey they were visiting a restaurant after seeing a Facebook friend there.
