Employees of the Bobovdol company Energoremont have given a signal for worm meatballs, which raised the inspectors of the Regional Directorate of the BFSA in Kyustendil.

The inspection revealed that there was no spoiled or improperly stored food in the Bobovdol enterprise, and the meatballs with the worms that appeared in them were secondarily contaminated by flies that spat on the food, and their eggs hatched only after 30 minutes.

The news was announced by the director of the local branch of the BFSA - Dr. Parvan Dangov, who added that both the chef and the staff serving the canteen in the company were subjected to a thorough inspection.

Energoremont employees were startled by 5 portions of meatballs that were consumed by the working group outside the company.

The inspection of the inspectors by the Regional Directorate has definitely proved that there are no violations in the storage of food in the enterprise.

In addition, the foodstuffs had the necessary documents of origin as well as documents proving their preparation.

According to Dr. Dangov, the meatballs were probably left unattended, and 30 minutes was enough time for worms to appear in them.

According to the inspectors, the signal was given by a work crew, and the worms in the food appeared after it was taken out of the enterprise and the meatballs were left outdoors.

Years ago, a huge scandal broke out with such meatballs, which appeared in the warm windows of a store in Sofia.

Then a whole family was injured after eating the unfortunate pork products.

Customers who had stomach problems immediately called the store and it turned out that there were worms in the fatty meatballs sold to them.

As soon as the store staff found out about the blunder, they sent the entire available batch of meatballs for destruction.

RIPCPH failed to provide an explanation for the worms in the meatballs, saying they could not be responsible for the products of animal origin.
