The price per liter of wine or brandy will jump by between 3 and 5 percent this fall, domestic producers predict in front of Nova TV. The reason for the change is the lower quality of the grapes this year.
Although last summer the vine growers in our country have reported a rich harvest, the producers claim that the grapes are not of such high quality and this requires an increase in values.
Many winemakers in our country have chosen to export their goods abroad and sell them to countries such as China, which requires a large number of domestic vimprom to import grapes from abroad, and this will also affect the final price of wine and brandy.
At the same time, the Minister of Agriculture and Food Rumen Porojanov announced that 200,000 tons of grapes will be processed for wine this year, Newsbg writes.
He stressed that this year's harvest is of excellent quality, and this is a prerequisite for the production of good wine. The increase in the relative share of wine with a higher export price is also a positive trend, said Minister Porojanov.
According to him, the wine industry in our country is at a very high level with 260 wineries registered.
On the territory of our country there are over 660,000 decares of vineyards, many of which are made or renovated according to European programs.
According to statistics, more and more Bulgarians are interested in wine production, and the main markets that are interested in domestic production are Russia, China and Great Britain.
By 2024, the sector is expected to receive about 26m euros a year, which will allow domestic producers to restructure their vineyards.
