Rapeseed oil is a natural product obtained by pressing the small seeds of rapeseed. They are obtained from the beautiful yellow flowering plants of the cabbage and cauliflower family.

In recent years, rapeseed oil has become increasingly popular. This is mainly due to the many benefits that outperform other types of oil. It has rich nutritional qualities, thanks to the minimal doses of all vegetable fats contained in it.

In contrast, there are too many monounsaturated fatty acids, which have been shown to reduce levels of bad cholesterol in the blood. Its health benefits are enhanced by its rich content of vitamin E. Levels of essential polyunsaturated fatty acids are also in moderate and acceptable levels.

Rapeseed oil is handled almost like any other. It is most often used to flavor salads and dressings. As an addition to the finished dish, add a maximum of 1 tbsp. daily.

It should be borne in mind that, like cold-pressed olive oil, rapeseed organic oil is used mainly for direct consumption and in its raw state. When heated or fried, this should be done at a minimum or medium temperature. If it gets too hot, it starts to smoke and has a strong fishy aroma.

Rapeseed oil is stored in a cool, dark place.

Healthy meatballs with rapeseed oil

Necessary products: 1 cup of rapeseed oil, 1/2 cup of flour, 2 cups of okra, coarsely chopped, 1/2 small diced onion, 1 egg, 1/4 tsp. whole milk, 1 tsp. grated cheese, 1/4 tbsp. hot red pepper, salt, black pepper.

Preparation: Heat the oil to medium heat. In a large bowl, mix the flour, okra, onion and hot pepper. Mix well. In a small bowl, beat the egg with the milk until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.

The result is added with the milk to the okra, stirring constantly. Add the cheese and stir again. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

From the mixture scoop small piles, which are placed in the oil. Each of them is lightly pressed with a spatula. Fry for about 4 minutes on each side. If they turn brown quickly, reduce the heat. Drain the prepared meatballs, preferably on kitchen paper. Sprinkle with spices if desired and serve.
