A man from the Smolyan village of Smilyan dug up a white truffle weighing a record 627 grams. The rare and extremely expensive mushroom was found by chance in the area of the Arda River.

The discoverer Denislav Ilchev told the Standard newspaper that he accidentally saw the white tuber of the mushroom while walking not far from the Greek border.

At first, the man did not understand exactly what kind of mushroom he picked, but after believing on the Internet, he could hardly believe his incredible luck.

The truffle weighs 627 grams and is stored in the freezer, waiting for potential buyers. However, Denislav's wife, Asya, said that she was tempted to cook part of the mushroom, as she had never seen anything like it before.

As a smell it is very strange - something mixed between gas, garlic, it is specific - says the woman from the village of Smilyan.

Traders who examined the find found that it was indeed a white truffle, but this was only according to initial observations. To prove that the fungus is really as expensive as it is supposed to be, laboratory tests must be done.

In the Rhodope region there are also black truffles, whose values are also quite high. A kilo of high quality black truffle is 90 euros. This year, however, the harvest was plentiful and the price dropped to 30 euros.

A family from the village of Pobeda in Dobrich can also boast of a giant mushroom torn off in recent days.

The 800-gram roe deer mushroom was picked by Vladislav Alexandrov in a forest near the village.

The man and his friend went to the forest to pick up a well, which the man from Dobrudzha said he had preserved because it was extremely tasty and preferred as an appetizer for winter evenings.

To Alexandrov's surprise, however, he did not find any wells, but came across deer, one of which weighed as much as 800 grams and had a diameter of 50 centimeters.

That same evening, Vladislav's family had a big feast by cooking a record mushroom.
