A new study from Toronto, Canada, found that children who consumed less cow's milk and chose some of the other types had lower levels of vitamin D in their bodies. The study was conducted among people in the United States and Canada, where it turns out that many parents choose to give their children milk other than cow's milk.

For the study, researchers monitored vitamin D levels in 2,831 healthy children between the ages of 1 and 6 who consumed cow's milk or other milk.

The results showed that those of the kids who often drink cow's milk have sufficient amounts of vitamin D in their body, unlike those who drink an alternative dairy product.

Analyzes of this milk drink indicate that 1000 ml of cow's milk contains an average of 40 IU of vitamin D, necessary for the proper growth of the child's body. Optimal doses of this vitamin are necessary for the proper absorption of calcium in the body, because its deficiency leads to the development of rickets in children or osteomalacia in adults.
