Red pepper - this so beloved and extremely commonly used spice, is one of the trademarks of our kitchen. In our traditional culinary tradition, there is almost no dish or pot in which not to add paprika.
It is so popular because of the sweet hue it imparts. It is extremely suitable for flavoring vegetable dishes, chicken, pork and beef, and even fish. Red pepper is often used to make a stir-fry for a dish, along with hot oil.
Red pepper is divided into two types - sweet red pepper and hot red pepper. Both types are dust or small flakes. They are obtained by grinding or crushing dried red peppers or peppers.
Ground paprika is a bright red powder with small particles in it. They include the ground walls of the pepper fruit, the seeds, the inner skins and in some cases - the end of the stem with the seed nest.
The raw material for the production of spices is dried pepper. Crushed pepper can be bought or made by hand in a homemade mortar. Dried peppers should always be stored in tightly closed containers in a cool, dark place.
Other spices are often added to ground red pepper. Such mixtures can be purchased or made at home. Pepper goes very well with spices such as basil, ginger, oregano, cinnamon, black pepper, cumin, dill, parsley, garlic and onion.
Sweet red pepper is made from sweet red peppers. It gives the dishes a slightly sweet taste. In addition to flavoring them, it also gives them a characteristic orange to tile color. It is often used for sprinkling various products and salads.
However, its true aroma is released during heat treatment. Care must be taken with it, because at high temperatures the sugars in the spice burn and its taste becomes bitter.
Chili peppers are made from ripe hot peppers and are used to season dishes, sauces and some spice mixes. It is also called chili.
Red pepper is well preserved by mixing with salt. In this way it is protected from insects and can be preserved for a long time.
