To make good Turkish coffee, the coffee must be fresh. Turkish coffee with old coffee leaves a sour taste in your mouth. So make sure you use a fresh product. The simplest way to keep coffee fresh is to buy it in small quantities and buy a new dose after it is consumed.
The second thing we need for the perfect Turkish coffee is a copper coffee pot.
The coffee pot, when it is copper, can give the best taste of coffee. You can also make good coffee in steel containers, but traditionally a copper pot is always used for maximum results.
As for water and sugar, it is common knowledge that water should be cold but room temperature. Of course, sugar is added as desired.
How exactly is Turkish coffee made?
First, put coffee in the pot. Suppose we make a dose for two glasses. Add two teaspoons of coffee to the pot. Then add two glasses of water at room temperature to the pot. We determine how much sugar we will put in the end. If you want a light sweetness, add 1-2 tsp. sugar, if you prefer sweeter - 4 tsp. Mix everything carefully and leave to mix.
Depending on the amount of added sugar, there are 4 types of Turkish coffee:
1. with a lot of sugar;
2. with sugar;
3. with a little sugar;
4. without sugar.
Now the coffee is ready to brew. It should be boiled on a moderate heat or a little harder, because if we make coffee too fast, we lose the foam. When our coffee is brewed slowly, it starts to foam and rise. This is exactly the time to remove from the heat and immediately return the pot to the fire. In the meantime, you can scoop some of the foam into your glass. That was the first step.
The second stage of the preparation of perfect Turkish coffee is to continue to cook it again on a not very strong stove. You can use a Turkish coffee machine, but the result will not be the same as in the classic honey pot.
The third step is serving Turkish coffee. For this purpose you need:
1. a cup of Turkish coffee
2. saucer for the cup
3. Turkish delight (mandatory)
4. A glass of drinking water.
