The tax control over the supply of tripe in our country will now be stricter, as employees of the fiscal unit of the National Revenue Agency will check each truck with offal, intestines and stomachs of animals intended for consumption.
Animal offsets, as well as glucose, glucose syrup, sugar syrups are defined as the highest risk goods for the state treasury, said Finance Minister Vladislav Goranov.
For this reason, these products will be subject to constant control by public authorities, whether fresh, salted, in brine, dried or smoked.
The employees of the National Revenue Agency will check the trucks that deliver these goods. It will be monitored whether the accompanying documents correspond to the actual condition of the products.
The purpose of the stricter controls introduced is to avoid illegal schemes that drain the state treasury. Through the illegal import and fictitious export of offal, turnovers are hidden, say the experts in our country.
One of the most common schemes for draining the treasury through VAT fraud is fictitious exports. In this case, the goods are exported only on documents and at the same time claim a tax credit, which refunds VAT from the treasury.
Meanwhile, the products are sold on the domestic market usually without receipts and so no taxes are paid.
Recently, the National Revenue Agency attempted to fictitiously export 8 tons of frozen chicken legs.
In the case of illegal imports, food is sold without the necessary documents, thus evading VAT and profit tax. This harms the state treasury and traders who work conscientiously and are obliged to sell their goods at slightly higher prices than those illegally offered.
There will be fiscal control points at all borders of the country. The full list of goods threatening the treasury also includes cherries, strawberries, fish, squid, mussels, cheese and butter.
