The bread of Ezekiel is the most useful variety of bread. In fact, we add a lot of fiber and nutrients from it, saving fast carbohydrates and high glycemic index. It is a type of bread made from bean sprouts and several types of wholemeal flours. Compared to white bread, which is made from refined white flour, Ezekiel bread is much richer in nutrients and fiber.
However, let's say some interesting facts about him. Its name comes from one of the most famous biblical prophets, and the recipe for this pasta dates back to the time of the Old Testament, and is even found in it. It is said that it needs wheat, barley, beans, lentils, millet and einkorn.
This bread is different for several reasons. No added sugars, made from whole grains and legumes. The germination process is also very beneficial for our body.
How to make Ezekiel bread
You need 4 types of seeds and 2 types of beans. You can use the biblical recipe - use 2 ½ tea cups of wheat, barley, millet and einkorn and 1 ½ tea cup of beans and lentils.
The germination process is important. Place the beans and cereals in a bowl. Cover them with cool water, leave the bowl overnight in a dark and warm place. In the morning, drain the water and leave the beans on baking paper. Keep them by wetting the paper twice a day. Do this until they germinate, or see tails of about half a centimeter.
Dry them overnight. The next morning put them in a blender or grinder, add water, yeast and about 100 grams of flour to get all the consistency of bread. Knead until a homogeneous and sticky mixture is obtained. Leave the dough for about 20 minutes to rise. Then bake.
However, let's say why it is important to use sprouts for this bread. They contain many useful ingredients - imagine how from grain they have become a small and young plant. Germination triggers a complex biochemical process. In order for a plant to germinate, it must have all the necessary nutrients, vitamins and minerals. Therefore bread Ezekiel is one of the healthiest in the world.
We advise you to try it! At least once.
