There are millions of diets. Some of them work, others do not. Three of the world's most popular diets are constantly debating how effective they really are and whether they have negative consequences for human health.

The Atkins diet is one of them. It is quite relevant as it achieves fast results. It is possible to lose 7 kilograms in two weeks.

It consumes mainly foods rich in protein - fish, eggs, meat, dairy products, nuts. Oil and butter are allowed. Vegetable salad is also eaten. The purpose of this diet is to limit carbohydrate intake.

According to many experts, the big disadvantage of this diet is that the body is deprived of carbohydrates and reduces water in the body. This in turn leads to a slowdown in metabolism, a change in metabolism and other health problems.

The low-calorie diet and another controversy. The idea is to eat a variety of foods, but for no more than 500-800 calories. That is three times less than is needed for the needs of the body.

The reason these diets have no effect is that when a person reduces the amount of food he eats, the body becomes stressed and begins to work more economically. At the same time, when a person allows himself to take in a larger amount of food, stocks are immediately accumulated. When a low-calorie diet is followed, a person feels tired, tired and very irritable.

The protein diet of French nutritionist Pierre Ducan is the third controversial diet. It has been quite modern for the last few years. It contains four stages. The first is called percussion. Its duration is from 5 to 7 days. Only proteins are consumed through them.

The second stage is mixed. Alternate days with protein and days with protein plus vegetables. The third stage is feeding - it is now allowed to eat protein and vegetables every day, except on Thursdays. More things can now be added to them - one fruit a day, 40 g of cheese or yellow cheese, two whole-grain slices.

The fourth stage is lifelong - every day a person can eat whatever he wants, but on Thursday he should eat only foods rich in protein. In addition to all of the above, 3 tablespoons of oatmeal are consumed every morning.

Here, too, the intake of carbohydrates is very limited, and they are the main products that are at the lowest level of the food chain. When a person deprives his body of pasta, it makes perfect sense to lose weight.

And although diet has an effect, it does not last long. When a person gives up consuming carbohydrates, he loses weight because the water in his body is reduced.
